Patent Name:Partially decomposed catalyst and hydrocarbon oxidation processes using the same
Country:[US] Patent ID:[20060293544]
Remarks: Abstract

The present invention is related to a hydrocarbon oxidation process. The process comprises bringing one or more hydrocarbons into contact with a source of oxygen in the presence of a radical initiator and a catalyst. The catalyst comprises an organic metal complex located on a catalyst support, and is obtained by partial decomposition of the organic metal complex. For example, the process can be used to produce dimethyl carbonate from dimethoxy methane. The invention is also related to a partially decomposed catalyst that comprises a silica support and an organic metal complex, wherein at least 5% of the organic compound remains in the catalyst. The organic metal complex comprises an organic compound and a metal-based compound wherein the metal is selected from copper, nickel, and combinations thereof. The invention is also related to a process for manufacturing of a catalyst comprising mixing L-arginine, a Cu-based compound, water, and optionally another metal-based compound to form a solution; impregnating the solution onto a silica support to form a catalyst precursor; and partially decomposing the L-arginine to form the catalyst so that at least 5% of L-arginine remains in the catalyst.

Patent Name:Method for removing hydrogen sulfide
Country:[CN] Patent ID:[85101000]
Remarks: Abstract
Disclosed is a method for removing hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide in chemical industrial gas by catalysis. It is suitable for water gas, natural gas, synthetic gas, fuel gas, e.t.c.The catalyst used is lignin sodium or lignin calcium salt as its major composition or waste black liquid from a paper plant. Since the sulfur obtained has white foam and the sulfur further produced has high purity with this method, especially the catalyst being used is non-poison, non-corrosiveness and quite cheap, it is a reasonable way of sulfur removal with good commercial value.

Patent Name:Method and device for chemical or biological analysis by a sensor with a monolithic chamber in the form of a multi-microtubular sheaf and a lateral integration measuring transducer
Country:[FR] Patent ID:[US2006257956]
Remarks: Abstract:

A method and device for chemical or biological analysis by a sensor provided with a monolithic chamber in the form of a multi-microtubular sheaf and a lateral integration measuring transducer. The method improves the usual method for a sensor evaluation of an analyte concentration in a fluid sample by multi-canalising in parallel the fluid sample fraction through channels of a monolithic reaction chamber, positioning a transducer system fully outside the surface of the shell of the reaction chamber and strictly in front of the lateral face thereof, carrying out an integral measurement of signals generated by the analyte combination and a receiver, which is also arranged in the reaction chamber, by a lateral transducer system coevally in all channels of the reaction chamber such that the presence of the analyte in all channels of the reaction chamber is simultaneously and globally quantified.
