Research Production: new branches in chemistry have appeared at the junction of organic, organometallic and coordination chemistry, namely the chemistry of the organic derivatives of the transition metals, p-complexes and clusters, asymmetric catalysis etc. The unique properties of these new compounds made it possible to develop new organometallic catalysts, to study an activation of small molecules, including molecular nitrogen, hydrocarbons, etc. Combination of organic and organoelement chemistry with the experimental and theoretical methods of physical chemistry promoted the development of relevant studies in reactivity, structural chemistry, catalysis and molecular dynamics of organoelement compounds.

The interaction between organophosphorus chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, and toxicology made it possible to unlock the secrets of the mechanisms responsible for the action of organophosphorus compounds upon biological structures and living organisms. Significant progress has been also achieved in the field of new tumor-selective anticancer preparations and physiologically active organofluorine compounds.

The works at the junction of the organic and inorganic chemistry, studies of the processes of polymer formation as well as structure-property relations, brought about the chemistry of polymers with organoelement and inorganic molecular chains and opened the ways to novel classes of linear and network polymers. New materials with valuable thermal, catalytic, sorptional and electrophysical properties, engineering plastics, thermostable composites and adhesives, membranes and polymers for electronics and medicine have been elaborated on the basis of these polymers.

At present, INEOS includes 41 laboratories and 15 research teams. The results of scientific research carried out at the Institute since 1999 have been summarized in more than 2500 scientific papers and 16 monographs. For the past five years, mutually beneficial contacts have been established with more than 150 universities, institutes and industrial Centers in Russia and abroad.

Research Production: Our main project involves the evaluation of an improved manifold for the creation of multivalent, multispecific or multifunctional antibody derivatives, in order to obtain recombinant antibody-based anti-cancer reagents. The ultimate goal is to evaluate new opportunities to immunotherapeutic approaches using recombinant antibody derivatives.

We also develop technology to further improve the chance on successful heterologous expression in E. coli, especially cytokines.

Division of organoelement compounds
Basic research in the field of organoelement and organic chemistry including the study of novel structures, reactivity, and kinetics. The study of organometallics and coordination complexes with s-, p- and n-bonds.

Elaboration of new methods of synthesis of organoelement compounds with polyhedral substituents (carboranes, fullerenes), polydecker compounds, clusters, anticrowns, etc. Studies of their geometry, electronic structure and chemical behaviour (stereochemistry, tautomerism, molecular dynamics) by physico-chemical techniques and quantum-chemistry methods.

Application of organometallic compounds in modern organic synthesis and catalysis. Asymmetric synthesis. Preparation of biologically active compounds of wide spectrum of action for medical and agricultural use.

Division of macromolecular compounds
Investigation of fundamental problems of the synthesis, structure and properties of polymers and composites. Improvement of synthetical methods for monomers and polymers. Computer design of macromolecules. Synthesis of aromatic and heterocyclic polymers, including polyconjugated, super-rigid and network polymers, studies of their physical and physico-chemical properties. Investigation of various elemento- and organometallic polymers, various methods of introduction of organometallic and metal groups into a polymer matrix. Nanostructure in polymers and synthesis of nanoparticles of various nature with use of polymer systems. Liquid-crystalline polymers and their properties. Studies of polyelectrolite properties. Investigation of the processes of polymer modification, including surface modification, thermal and photochemical transformations in organic and organoelement polymers.

Physical division
Application of the modern physical methods (X-ray diffraction, nuclear magnetic resonance, electron spin resonance, infrared and Raman spectroscopy, mass-spectrometry, nuclear quadrupole resonance, X-ray photoelectron and Auger spectroscopy, electron microscopy, computational methods and others) to the study of structure and reactivity of organic, organoelement and polymer compounds.
